Refugee Ministry Good Neighbor Team 2025

We currently partner with World Relief to support refugees moving to our area, and are recruiting more team members to answer the biblical call to welcome the stranger by forming a Good Neighbor Team! 

A Good Neighbor Team (GNT) is a group of 5-12 people that partners with World Relief Texas for a 6 month commitment to welcome, walk alongside, and offer reciprocal friendships with a newly arrived refugee family. 

After onboarding and training with World Relief, GNTs are equipped to be a friend to a family and help with things like:

• cultural orientation
• visiting to help with English language and provide social opportunities
• supporting access to medical and social services
• orienting new arrivals to their neighborhood and community, including showing them how to shop for groceries or access transportation services
• empowering newcomers towards employment and English language learning

Your responsibility is to regularly check in on the well-being of a family and to provide relational encouragement and support. Through friendship and relationship, the family will know that they are welcomed and cared for.
